Until 27 November, all MIDO exhibitors can apply to take part in the 2024 Certified Sustainable Eyewear (CSE) Awards, launched by MIDO in collaboration with ANFAO and Certottica, which assess sustainability in the eyewear industry on an international level. But the fair in Milan has even more prizes to award.
Recycled materials, reduced consumption in production and distribution, supply chain maximisation, waste reduction, degree of recyclability, use of renewable resources and certifications already achieved are some of the criteria the jury will use to determine the winners of the second edition of the award.

The winners will be announced during MIDO, which will be held at Fiera Milano Rho from 3 to 5 February 2024. The “CSE Award” is divided into six categories: CSE Award Sunglasses Europe, CSE Award Sunglasses Rest of the World, CSE Award Frames Europe, CSE Award Frames Rest of the World, CSE Award Cases Europe and CSE Award Cases Rest of the World. To enter, participants must fill in the online form, which can be found in the “Join in” section of the website www.mido.com.
More MIDO Awards
From 18 October, applications will also be open for the “BeStore Award”, which recognises the best optical shop in the world, and on 26 October registration will open for the “Stand Up For Green Award”, which is given to the most sustainable stand based on environmental impact and use of materials.
Registration for visitors has been open since the end of September. MIDO organisers are already busy organising free trains for opticians from the main cities in Italy and free transfers from Milan train stations and airports.
