By postponing the Copenhagen Specs until June and then August 2020, the organisers wanted to hold the fair in the Danish capital this year after all. Now, due to the Corona crisis, the eyewear event is being postponed until next year: March 6 and 7, 2021.
A decision by the Danish government last week, according to which large gatherings with more than 500 people are prohibited until September 1, 2020 due to the corona crisis, now also overturned the alternative date of the Copenhagen Specs in mid-August 2020.
“Following this statement from the government, we have decided to postpone the Copenhagen Specs event until 6-7 March 2021, as our event gathers more than 500 people. We are of course very sad about this postponement, but we respect the government’s decision,” says Morten Gammelmark, CEO and founder of the eyewear fair.
And what about Copenhagen Specs in Berlin?
After the Barcelona Specs, this is now the second event in the Specs trade fair series to be cancelled this year. It remains to be seen whether the event in Berlin can take place on September 5 and 6, 2020.
